Valve suck, Steam sucks - > Just bought half life 2

I had the pirated version of Half Life 2 to make absolutly sure that it was going to work on my average spec PC. The pirated version was up and running in no time. I just loaded the intro and played for 5 mins. I didnt play further because I only got it as a system test. I removed it last night.

Today I went and bought Half Life 2 boxed copy in my local game outlet for £35. So far its taking me almost 2 hours trying to make it work. It looks like it is now, but the work involved in getting this activated is not worth it. At this point I have decided to NEVER buy another game from Steam and or/valve. Instead I will only use pirated versions until they remove this steam catastrophie... sorry

Did it actually work good and look good on your computer? what are your computers specs?

works fine...

problem?.. during install process and authentication i had the problems. it took 4 installs to get it to finally work! ... 4 installs when the installation is almost 4GB! Lol... now that IS frustrating!!!..

its an amazing game though!
