Angelic
“It’s My Turn 2009”

The early millennium witnessed the inception of a dynamic trio consisting of BBC Radio One's Judge Jules, mastermind producer Darren Tate (DT8 Project, Jurgen Vries) and sublime vocalist Amanda O'Riordan. They were best known to the world of course as the world as ‘Angelic’.

It was the year 2000 that paved the way for many Angelic anthems including “Can’t Keep Me Silent”, “Stay With Me” and of course “It’s My Turn”. Now as we approach the latter part of 2009 their seminal classic “It’s My Turn” is to be given a new breath of life. This time around the release showcases some of the finest producers on the scene, and there’s something here for everyone.

A remix package wouldn’t be complete without a new take from Darren himself. Darren provides us with a new insight into how the Angelic sound has evolved since its inception, as well as giving us his own darker rework of the classic too.

Rising star and production whiz kid Corderoy is on hand to deliver an equally anthemic interpretation. Dale keeps the track at its roots while managing to add his unique and skilful production style to it. Another rising producers who is quickly making a name for himself with the likes of BBC One’s Judge Jules is Daz Bailey, and he has produced a thumping progressive house mix that’s sure to do damage on the floor.

Completing the package we have mixes from no strangers to the dance scene Flip & Fill, adding their unique hard-style touch. And if that’s not enough Eat’s Everything provides a superb dark electro house take, while NRapture plumps for the more tech house based approach.

I quite like this new version of an old classic.

Only one grumble.

Flip & Fill need shooting, they are a disgrace to dance music with the cheese ridden shite they have produced in the past!

The other mixes are nice though, just a shame about that mix on it.
