Ourway Recordings, the brain child of the Canadian Douglas K, presents "The Curse". This two tracker injects minimalistic, rough and dark hypnotic sounds in the production, very suited for building long afterhour sets. Douglas K's history goes back to when Montreal was known for its crazy parties at Sona and Cream, when Sasha & Digweed used to pack these venues! For those who remember the days, will be surprised to reminisce the sound and emotions embodied in this release. "The Curse" is heavily influenced by Dubfire, and by Sharam's recent remix of Timo Maas and Radioslave's aggressive yet raw approach, fitting Douglas K’s own representation of that sound. While "In the night" took three months to finish due to its complex story arrangement. Slightly influenced by some of Josh Gabriel's recent work, and from some recent sounds of the Cocoon label.
