Post Post subject: Jakatta slate Basement Jaxx & Daft Punk Reply with quote

Dave Lee from Jakatta has had a go at Basement Jaxx and Daft Punk, accusing them of making boring albums.

he was quoted for Radio1 as saying "As much as I like Basement Jaxx and Daft Punk, I find listening to their albums, all the way through, boring"

Personally I love Both acts and think he's a bit out of order as the albums are really good, variations and not all using the same type of samples anyway

What do you think ?

Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx are too commercial, i think thats why he found he could slate them.
Personally, i think he's correct.. their music doesen't compare to Jakatta. Dave Lee produces some brilliant music, and will always be one of my favorite producers.

Bassement jaxx and Daft Punk aren't commercial. you just need to listen to all their songs not what u hear on compilations and the radio. And anyway what about Jakkata's American Dream...last time i looked that was getting a bit commercial.
They are all good!

Damn right! American Dream made number 2 over here (in the UK) last year, the follow up Ever So Loney was top 10 earlier this year & anyways who is he to say their music is boring! Has he listened to his own Jakatta stuff? Theres about 20 seconds in the middle of each of those tunes which is ace, shame about the other 6 minutes of boring beats & chants! Laughing

OMFG Jakatta said that, okay I dont really like daft punk / basement jaxx (all a bit to cheesy well i didnt mind wheres you head at), but jakatta has no place to say that, Have you heard jakattas follow up to american dream? How boring is that, OK if you create music you have a certain style but it sounds the same! christ if jakatta made an album they may aswell wack 12 tracks all with American dream on it!. What utter utter shit.
