Information
“One Year of Aenaria Tribal” is a musical presentation of Luca Ricci’s imprint Aenaria Tribal and of course Luca Ricci as a dj. It is a mix of ethnic, melodic progressive but also peak hour techno tribal house music, skillfully compiled and mixed. This mix features released and many unreleased productions by the man himself and several Aenaria Tribal artists.

The drum is world’s oldest instrument and used in all kinds of rituals and ceremonies. Whether it was used to communicate or to celebrate, the beat of the drum has been in human lives since the beginning. It is the essence of modern dance music. It moves your body almost subconsciously as it speaks to your deepest instincts. Luca Ricci is a very diverse dj and producer and he does not stick to only one genre, but embraces all styles in electronic dance music today. However his love for the tribal beat will never fade and that can be heard in his amazing “One Year of Aenaria Tribal” mix.

The mix starts off with an intro that contains the sexy vocals of Monica Hernandez. She has worked with Luca on several productions and she could be considered as one of his trade marks. The second track, the beautiful “Indonesia” by Belocca was the very first release on Aenaria Tribal in 2006. Then follows an unreleased project by Luca Ricci and the Portuguese Redkone called “Last Inca Tribe”, which is an amazing production containing the typical elements of a Luca Ricci production: live recorded flutes, ethnic voices and of course dark percussion. Track number 4 is again an unreleased production by an Aenaria artist. “Echoes” by Glender has a driving rhythm and beautiful break with Native American chants and elements that give it a magical touch.

Then the mix progresses to the next level with “Call of Lambada” by Natural Born Groovers. Again an unreleased production that has a dark groove with even darker voices, building up the energy, making you curious about where this mix will lead to.

Track number 6 is originally released on Upfront Records in Portugal, Unlogic’s “Nu Tribe”. Simply a great tribal groover that fits perfectly in this mix. Following is a remix by London909 of one of Luca Ricci’s greatest records: “La Music vs El Dinero” released on Stereo Productions in 2006. This incredible production is still being played at clubs world wide.

Moving from the deep progressive tribal style towards a more harder tribal techy sound, which will defiantly make you move into your seat if not dancing yet.

Up next is “Understand” by Mitch Boys, a Portuguese production duo introduced on Aenaria Tribal at the beginning of 2007. DJ Jiggy and Nuno Clam have put together a roaring amount of percussion with a captivating vocal and thumping bass. Deep ‘n Soul and “Free Your Mind” is a record that is released on the Brazilian Da Sound Recordings. Twitching sound effects and sharp vocal effects with loud drums that move into the next production again by Mitch Boys. “Brought Back” is originally the flip side of Understand. Churning and twisting itself into a frenzy with an amazing buildup that strays from the ordinary and keeps your feet planted on the dance floor.

We have now arrived at the grand finale. The first co-production by Jaimy and Luca Ricci presented to the world of dance music in 2006 on Jaimy’s label Fatal Music. “Todos Es Aqua” is a peak hour typical Fatal bomb. Jaimy’s and Luca Ricci’s style perfectly blend together resulting in deep messages and insane percussion. Alex Ocampo’s remix of “Mad Bojo” by Welton vs Zulauf came out on the UK based Adjust Recordings at the end of 2006. Trippy twisted sounds. An Intense Techno groove and a pounding bass make this the perfect afterhour stormer. The mix ends with yet again an unreleased project. This time a co-production by Luca Ricci and Craig Mitchell called “Hellz Yeah”. Expected on Aenaria Tribal this year. Industrial sounds merged with dirty drums, dark horns and roaring effects.

“One Year of Aenaria Tribal” is not just about one style of Tribal House so to speak, but it is a journey through all kinds of styles within this genre.
