VA - Hardfloor CD

Release Date: 26th January 2007

After nearly a year spent in the recording studio, the French trance label 3D Vision is ready to explode back onto the worldwide psy-trance universe with its latest compilation, "Hardfloor"! Featuring nine tracks by both new and veteran artists and collaborations, Hardfloor contains a little bit for everyone, from full-on, face-melting dark psy to second-wind inspiring morning peak tracks, "Hardfloor" delivers the goods with a knowing wink and a smile. You can't go wrong when artists like Absolum and CPU have their say in the tracklisting, and high expectations are met with flair and vigor in this innovatively heart-pounding label venture. Not to mention 3D Vision's newer talent, such as Azax Syndrome, whose debut album is slated for release shortly, and Concept, who is destined to become a household name in the trance world, these names are to be taken seriously; judging from these tracks, there is worlds worth of potential in these artists. So strap on your seatbelts and space helmets... “Hardfloor" is a sure-fire dust kicker set to take you on a nonstop trip to the Crab Nebula.

Track by Track:

Mad Netic - "The Other Side"
With an intro packed with more sounds than what is heard in entire tracks by other artists, "The Other Side" starts things off on the darker side... at times soaring through space with scorching acid leads and others submerging into the depths of eloquently filtered sound, this track delivers high-voltage madness rife with tension-twisting breakdowns and plenty of lasers and phasers.

Azax Syndrom vs. Tube - "My November"
3D Vision and Chemical Crew bump noggins to bring forth a musical piece with plenty of funk and a sci-fi/horror feel! Combinations of ominous padwork and tweaked out acid stabs make for a perfect backdrop for outdoor full-moon revelry. Bassline change-ups and melodies ensure this track will never grow dull no matter how much play it gets... which will certainly be a lot.

Absolum - "Astral Body Surfing v.02"
By now Absolum should need no introduction, and his contribution to 3D Vision's latest trance comp does not disappoint. These sounds seem to implode and release their energy with the force of a supernova... well-defined bass, background vocal wailing and a dissonant breakdown will keep you wired and on your toes and peeking for monsters over your shoulder.

Painkiller - "Hard Floor"
The title track for this darkly hard-hitting comp enters innocuously at first, but by the first minute, only the comatose won't be bobbing their heads to this one. Meaty bass punches and pitchy percussion keep things funky and pulsating... utterly perfect for stomping footprints into a dancefloor. "Hard Floor" has great flow and keeps the energy rolling relentlessly.

CPU vs. Bliss - "Sucsexful"
These two trance masters use the blues creatively to bring soul into this trance piece from the get go. The first half is low, menacing, and slinky... and, like a beast of prey, springs forth predatoriously, the sounds jumping right into your face. The gentle harmonic blues elements and the nasty funkiness of the rhythm filters contrast nicely and hybridize into a full-on stomper by the track's end.

Sirius Isness vs. Painkiller - "LFO By Nature"
These two veteran trance acts collaborate to bring this compilation a molten hot full-on dance motivator with slight hints of morning air. The leads are corrosive and searing while the bass accompaniment seems made of evil-infused silly putty; viscous and pliable and to its fullest in this masterful track. No safe places to hide in this track; it makes you your slave and compels you to dance.

Painkiller vs. Menog - "Meditative State"
Contrasting to the rest of this album, "State" starts off peacefully tugging you along a smooth ride of bass and foggily harmonic pads. With a cacophany of tweaked out noises to keep your ears busy, these two spice things up with a handful of bassline rearrangements and thickly resonant trance leads. As the name implies, this track is an easy one to get lost in... close your eyes and let your body do the work!

Outer Signal - "Groove Control"
Wow, what a funky bassline! Outer Signal's track stand out amongst the others with its rich breakbeat bass textures and ethereal, wind-tunnel pads. "Groove Control" offers plenty of room to move, and, while on the minimal tip, the sounds are masterfully synthesized and meticulously placed to make for a solid wind-up track that stays fresh and is born to be heard under starry night skies.

Concept - "Entering The Dawn"
Don't let the name of this track fool you... "Entering The Dawn" by promising French artist Concept is at times full-on and at others malevolently atmospheric. Echoing rhythms and leads make this track a great one for the outdoors. Evocative, epiphany inspiring trance music here; Concept's "Dawn" is an altered-state inducer from start to finish. We can surely expect great things from this fledgling trance artist.
