Are compilations getting less creative?

It seems that, especially this year and last, that many CD compilations contain the same tracks. In the past, it seemed a bit more varied, but now it's not unusual to see most of a CD's tracks already released on other CDs.
I wish DJs could be more creative and take a chance on less well-known tracks.

CDs havent been good for along time... there is still the occasional one that is decent but the life and the energy and the originallity has gone out of mixed CDs...

They haven't been too inspirational for the past 3-4 years now.. Most of the trance compilations have indeed the same tracks, just in different order. Every DJ has been playing the same tracks allover so i guess they all just want to (or are told to do so) use the tracks everyone are hyping about. I'm sure if the DJs could fully decide the compilation tracklistings by themselves, they wouldn't be all the same.

It's about the same with compilations than it is with remixes & 200* updates: Would be so much better if done of more relatively unknown tracks from producers everyone don't know everything about yet, instead of all the commonly known BIG ones.

Heh how in the world could be creativity in the compilations anymore? Most of the producers destroyed their style just to enter asot or tiesto's playlist or pvd etc,Other artists which had different style left the scene eg Taucher and so the scene stayed with all those mc prog/uplifitng stuff...some could say that there are less known producers producing fine trance but where are they? Let me bring u an example:Platipus' Art of trance did a compilation while ago and tried to put in the deeper edge of trance nowadays..The result was superb!But there were tracks of 2004 like HAAK-Bass Shuttle... that shows the emptyness of the scene as fas as c the deeper edge-pure edge is concerned..Another example is John 00 Flemming: every year he had a White Label euphoria style compilation with the deeper and most underground - pure trance anthems till last year...this year with white label republic he didn't include any track of the trance industry .Y? He changed his style? I don't think so I believe he just couldn't find producers producing anymore the trance he liked so he included mainly tracks from the progressive psy trance (ticon,sbk etc) industry Surprised

Shocking isn't it?
