With the DJ poll on, I thought it might be interesting to see who you think is the best DJ in three categories:
1. Mixing/track transition
2. Track selection (for overall smoothness/flow and the quality of the tracks)
3. Energy, playing to the crowd, ect.
I'm just interested to see what people have to say for the best DJs in categories.

| Armin is pretty good at mixing/track transition, and so is John '00' Fleming... Like Andrew, I think I'm pretty good at track selection, but we're obviously boh modest and energy/playing to a crowd Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto -- although I dont rate Tiesto like I once did, he's got a big big big crowd following and he could pretty much play what he wants...

Cool! (I love Sam's Question time! )
1. Ferry Corsten. Smooth and almost genius like in his mixing. But the most creative DJ for mixing from genre to genre with no problems....Carl Cox.
2. Armin is a very flowing DJ because he tents to like the same style of song and sound of track. But real track selection I would have to go for DJ Precision.
3. Oh this one's easy! But I can't decide which one! For Energy and playing to the crowd. It's between Mauro Picotto or Johan Gielen......propably Gielen. But his mixing can be bad sometimes.
What about you Sam, you didn't say Mr Viceroy???

1: Q-Bert. End of contest.
2: Shiloh have a way of getting a great vibe going in their sets, and never letting go of it.
3: Quite honestly, it's a local DJ from San Francisco called Mystre; he's been known to pull crowds bigger than Paul van Dyk in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, and has a very uplifting, energetic style.

Now for my own answers. I don't hear a lot of sets, even downloaded ones, so I'm going from mix CDs here mostly.
1. AvB is very good technically. Smooth transitions.
2. I like John '00' Fleming. He picks nice stuff that goes together, but it's not always the same top 10 everybody else is playing - he picks lesser known stuff and that gives him a leg up over the usual suspects. Good flow and good selection.
3. Johan Gielen - he seems to have a lot of energy and I think that carries to the crowd, better than a DJ who just stands behind the decks. On the minus side for Gielen, I've heard some stuff about his mixing being dodgy, but I've never heard this myself.
He's my personal favourite, anyway.

I've heard some of Mars' more recent work, but Mystre just keeps up a lot better than he does. A decade ago it would have been Mars, but Mystre has been a lot more consistant.

1) Gavyn Mytchel's mixing is very good imo...through his mixing he also makes some tricks that connect the tracks very good, like some smooth effects, loops, etc....generally,he works very creative with music during his mixing.
2) M.I.K.E.'s track selection is the best (imo..). he selects very special tracks that arent played by anyone else. he knows how to create a special feeling in his sets with his own style.
3) Taucher, the no1 in stage appearance(imo..).he really enjoys being on the decks, dressed with diver's uniforms.he also performs as an acrobat who can hang upside down from the ceiling to work the turntables, and he may change his outfits up to ten times during his sets..full of energy entertainment!

They did about 7 years ago, yes. That track was huge in California, most of the small-time DJ's were dropping it once per set.

Due to Drama MARS and Mystre aren't on good terms with each other, Mystre from what at i heard has drama with Dyloot and Tom Slik as well. I heard he is a very shady character.
as for top dj 's and producers for me
1. Mike Shiver
2. Dj Percision
3. Adam White
