Ive actually got the beat synchronized to the song I feel loved. I detected the BPM of the acapella, and set the tempo to that BPM and its synchronized. But when up the tempo and try to fit the acapella to it, all hell breaks loose.

So, I assume by 'all hell breaks loose' you mean that the tempo of the acapella doesn't change with the rest of the song so it sounds like a bad day in Bosnia. Timestretching in FL5 seems to work fine with the 8 bar loops I've been using for my latest remix. But if you're just using one long sample for the whole song this may cause problems. Acid has the Beatmapper to deal with this, but I haven't looked into timestretching in FL5 enough to know if a similar feature in available.
