What's your favourite Happy Hardcore tune? Mine is
Scott Brown - Rock You Softly
although Scott Brown - Elysium is very good, the long break in the middle put me off a bit. But the piano and main synths at the beginning of that one are absolutlely brilliant.
Scott Brown is THE MAN! Laughing

Mine is one you have just mentioned: Scott Brown - Elysium. I dont mind the break it has in it, adds a bit to the track. The track you mentioned from him is a very good track as well.

I'm always pleased with Scott Brown's productions.

Brisk & Trixxy - Eyeopener
Scott Brown - Take Me Up
Fabulous Faber - Music I Like

and quite a few more. As cheesy and annoying as Happy Hardcore is, it's still a damn fun listen from time to time.

Depends on whether it's old happy hardcore or the new stuff. Old favourites would have to be Force & Styles/ Pacific Sun, Bang / Shooting Star and 2 Without Heads / U & Me. New favourites are Scott Brown / Elysium Plus and Stargazer / Ultimate High (Breeze & Styles Remix)

Just as a side note here, I just bought a new CD which had 10 of Scott Brown's productions (some of them were just projects he was involved with). And only maybe 3 were good. Bit of a shock, seeing as everything I had heard from him previously was brilliant.
Here's the listing from discogs if you're interested.
01 Scott Brown Turn Around (5:52)
02 Scott Brown vs. Bass X Pilgrim2000 (5:06)
03 Interstate (3) Forever Yours (5:49)
04 Interstate (3) Beloved (5:16)
05 Scott Brown & Gillian Tennant Every Time I Close My Eyes (4:43)
06 Q-Tex Genesis (5:4Cool
07 Q-Tex Viroid (6:31)
08 Scott Brown Now Is The Time 2000 (4:21)
09 Interstate (3) Get Up On It (5:41)
10 Scott Brown Elysium (5:27)

Yes, I'm surprised to hear that too. What's the matter with them? Are they typical sounding Scott Brown tracks without exciting melodies, is he experimenting with different sounds...?

A lot of his songs don't build very well I think...some of them have a main melody that makes them worth a listen (Take Me Up, for example) but most of the track is pretty much garbage. He does have some good productions under his belt though, I can't fault the guy.

It's mostly that the melodies just didn't grab me. They aren't anthemic at all, seems like there's just not a lot of thought that's gone into them. l
