Post subject: Isn't this a DISCUSSION forum? |
|
|
Hey,
Just want to bring a point to mind here. I'm quite pissed off at you guys for not allowing any other links anywhere on the forums if they don't link back to your site. I mean, this IS a discussion forum - and there is a section for off-topic posts. Can I just ask, what harm is it going to do you if people tell each other what other sites they visit? It's not as if someone is going to stop visiting [i:Vibes] just because someone posted a link to a great Online Gaming site or something. I just think it's a bit over the top to lock the thread about everyones most-visited sites. Ok, fair enough, spamming of people's sites (and maybe even other music info sites) is wrong - but all people were doing here was telling each other what sites they visit regularly ALONG with [i:Vibes]. So guys, please chill out a little and remember, this is a disussion forum after all.
Well, that's about all I have to say - and please don't take offence at what I said, as you guys are doing a great job with the site.
Cheers and keep up the good work,
-Kev

I agree here with mccrindle, the thread wasnt meant to spam or something like that, It was just to be curious what this people on the forum visited the most during their live.
Theirs I think no way people are gonna visit this site less if you post your personal visited sites
tnx for saying this McCrindle

i dont see what harm links to sites off a different catorgie do to [i:vibes].. its not like they are in direct competition....
is this the same deal with direct downloads ?? or is there another reason why we cant post them ?? or are we allowed to post them again ?? cos i knew at one point we wernt....
is it to do with the forums/ivibes being mp3 free ??

I locked that topic because there were links to TranceAddict, Homeofmusic, Trance.Nu and some others...
Those sites are in direct competition with [i:Vibes].
For example, Trance.Nu wont even do a link exchange with us because we are competition to THEM!... You gotta see where we are coming from too... We have a link to their site in our links page and they still dont even link back...
Also, I agree that maybe the topic should not have been locked, maybe just SOME of the links censored...
I hope I have not upset anybody by locking that topic... Please feel free to link ANY site that is not similar to i:vibes or illegal or porn. Please do not post direct download on the site either because our webhost will not be happy with that...
Thats all ..
Thanks for bringing this up Kev

No probs. Just thought I might as well share my views with yas. Constructive criticism is always good for the running of a site.
Thanks for clearing the point up a bit Steven,
-Kev

I can see the point in not allowing links to other music forums, The only time I ever place links is for information to an artists site, or someplace say sport or something, thats not against us here. I have to admit that I don't use Home of music forums now cause I was posting topics for identifying tracks and they made me out to be stupid just cos I couldn't remember some names to stuff, and in a way thats whats so good about it here, everyone knows who everyone else is, and its just a more friendly atmosphere for everyone

Thanks for the words ferrycorstenfan
The main reason for the community being more friendly here is the fact that we are a relativly new setup compared with homeofmusic who has been alive for a few years now...
I hope our community will continue this way and im sure that all the staff here at i:Vibes will try their best to keep it that way
