The newest of Armin's compilations, and one of the most popular compilations or albums this year.
Have you bought it? What was your favourite track? What would you give it out of 10?
I bought this over the weekend but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.

I thought it was one of his worst releases ever, and a far cry from the best mix-CD this year.

I've watched Armins career go from an underground little guy working for Black Hole, to becoming the biggest thing on trance radio since DI started advertising on Deviantart, and I'm sad to say, he's been declining ever since his Basic Instinct release. He's not as focused on music as he used to be, but more on being a walking, talking, DJing advertisement for trance, which isn't entirely bad, but it's sad to see someone that had so much promise waste in on a popularity contest.

I think Marco V's 3-disc compilation is my favorite trance release this year.

I enjoyed his A State Of Trance Album.

Not sure about the best release of the year but it certainly was a decent 2CD mix compilation to have in the collection.

This shit have fucking destroyed trance music, it feels like every producer are only producing to be a part of this pile of shit - everything are all the same! No producers aren't willing to take the risk of producing a different typ of track =/

2004 so far feels like the worst trance year ever! There have just been a few really really awesome tracks so far Sad

Exactly.

IMO Armin's ASOT 2004 is pretty empty sounding mix with way too many generic and pretty boring supersaw trancers even if there are some great tracks too.

My fav trance mix-CD is Oakey's Creamfields 2004, just picked it up last week. Until then my fav was either Holden's Balance 005 or Schulz's Coldharbour Sessions 2004.

Just to clarify - I didn't say this was one of the BEST releases this year, but one of the most popular. Often, this isn't the same thing.
I've only listened to this once, and it didn't knock me over. Decent, with some good tracks, but not that great.
I'll probably change my opinion once I listen to it again. Lots of times, that's what happens.
