soundclick.com is a good start to get your songs up on the net.
I've got my account there (http://www.soundclick.com/asthetik)
My stuffs not so good, the only track I'd recommend listening to is the top one, if you like that then listen to the other stuff.. I make everything using FL.
Reason will give you better synths sounds, but if you're really familiar with the FL interface I'd just buy some VSTi synth plug-ins and work that interface to its max. Anyhow, that will depend on your drum machine. However, FL is a fantastic drum machine, and buying a hardware one seems somewhate superflous... With some good samples you can make kicking drum tracks.
I'd be interested in hearing your work, though.

well if you want to be shabby about it make mix tapes(hopefully you have already) and then just hand them out to friends or people that you might meet when doing a gig. thats how i got started off working in the streets reali and handing out free demos. All your hard work will pay off though. just keep trying
