This is really weird! Two HH tunes on one CD are have vocals that are also used in trance! Check these out:

Armin van Buuren feat. Krezip - Stay
and Scott Brown - Turn Up the Music

Ethos - Drift on a Dream
and Lange - I Believe (DJ Tandu Remix)

I find that a fair bit, heard vocals in one style of track taken from another. Some vocals are used a hell of a lot and can be found in a vast arrey of tracks.

Erm the Trance/Hardcore crossover over vocals has been around ever since Trance became commercial, E.g There are remixes of "Paul Van Dyk - For an Angel" and "Matt Darey - Temptation" on Hardcore label Blatant Beats.

Its not just hardcore using trance vocals though, if you look at all the new cheesey trance songs from flip 'n' fill et al, you will notice they are all hardcore tracks from around 96-98, namely from Force and Styles. Even the newer ('ish) hardcore tracks with vocals are being released on the trance scene such as Breeze and Styles - Your Shining.

It's been done for ages and ages mate. In fact a lot of vocals used in trance and hardcore dont even originate from either genre but from some olddddddddd song in the past. I guess this is especially true for most of the old happy hardcore tunes, just think 99 red balloons, eternal flame etc. Or on the trance side of things "plummet - damaged" which was a soundtrack to 'broke down palace'

I don't think Viceroy meant the obvious remixes and covers. I think he was just talking about examples of different and original tracks that happen to use the same vocals. We all know that Flip & Fill and other cheesy commercial trance producers rip off old hardcore tracks and we know about the remixes too Smile

ahh in that case, sorry for pointing out the obvious.

Im new to this forum as u can see from my number of posts. It's always hard to tell on various forums just how diverse the community is. Im glad the community here are branching off into so many various styles and know alot about different varieties of hard dance music, it saddens me on other forums when people cant appreciate the other styles out there! Plus with my roots firmly in the old hardcore scene i like to throw a bit of hardcore weight about any discussion i can Wink

Once again sorry for stating the obvious if that is indeed the case with you, or if i misunderstood the original post. Hopefully, at the very least it opened a few more peoples eyes Smile

Yeah, Aquascape is right, I was just saying it's weird how one genre uses the name vocals, very uniquely I might add, but the same vocals as a completely different genre.

Yes, remixes and remakes are common in happy hardcore but I can't think of a tune that uses the same vocals as a different trance tune. The only vaguely interesting song I can think of along similar lines is 'Fallen Angel' by DJ Weaver which is a blatant rip-off of 'Destination' by DT8. God, I hate it when they do that. DJ Weaver doesn't even appear to know what he's doing with the bassline coz it's all over the shop Hard headed
