Club-Culture VS Ignorance PVD involvement

Too loud? Too unpolitical? Too narcissistic? Too drugged up? Too dirty?

These recurring statements and a lack of support from politicians, business and the public led, among other things, to the cancellation of this year’s Love Parade.

Now the partysans have organised a demonstration:

FIGHT THE POWER – CLUBCULTURE vs. IGNORANCE

A protest march against the intolerant and narrow-minded attitude towards club culture and for the return of the Love Parade! Music and politics - DJ sets and speeches! For the acceptance of youth culture and against reactionary intolerance.

The march will be staged on Saturday, 10 July 2004. The demonstrators will be gathering at Adenauerplatz at 4.30 p.m. The opening rally will begin at 5 p.m. and then the marchers will head towards the Memorial Church. The demo will end at Nollendorfplatz. There will be two rallies along the route, probably on the corner of Kurfürstendamm/Joachimstaler Str. and at Wittenbergplatz. The final rally will be staged at Nollendorfplatz and end at 10 p.m.

Paul van Dyk and his label Vandit will be involved.

In this case ignorance is not bliss... sadly it is the source of opression of the club culture. I am glad I wasn't one of the ones going this year, but I had always planned on going some day. If the Love Parade is cancelled forever it is going to be devastating news for me. I hope this demonstration gets its point across or people like me will never get to experience what the Love Parade was all about.

I've no idea why its been cancelled or the politics around it. Nice money spinner having a protest about it.
