The German post office has yet again come up with a brilliant idea. It plans to change the parcel size for trade samples. Up to now, you could send packages measuring 350 mm x 350 mm x 150 mm for a reasonable €1.53. However, soon only sizes up to 350 mm x 300 mm x 150 mm will be permitted for trade samples.

While this may not sound too serious at first, all DJs, record companies, Ebay sellers and record shops are extremely concerned. The reason is that 12"s will no longer fit in the new size parcels and it will cost €4.10 to send records in future. The effect this will have on DJ promos remains to be seen.

The German post office may well have shot itself in the foot!
