Post Post subject: Moloko Split Up and Roisin Goes Solo... Reply with quote

Roisin Murphy, front woman of “Moloko”, has a lot of plans. One year after the last band album “Statues”, her management has now announced that Moloko is taking a long break as Roisin wants to concentrate on her solo career.

The album will be released in autumn and show even more sides to Roisin. The new Moloko album will therefore probably not come out until 2006. So, Moloko fans don’t bury your heads in the sand, look forward to Roisin’s solo album.

Sorry to say that I am glad Moloko won't be releasing any new material any time soon. I really dislike all their songs (well not all just the ones that I've heard).

I guess that's how I feel about Real McCoy (Run Away) and some D'Agostino tunes, I mean they remind me of when I started to get into more electronic music (though I admit that both artists are kind of cheesy and I definetely consider them guilty pleasures).

Moloko does have some cheesier songs (Fun For Me), but I don't mind those -- sort of a stage for Roison to display vocal tricks and whatnot, so I'll listen. But when she gets into the deep, soulful songs, she blows my mind. Forever More, The Time Is Now, Cannot Contain This -- pure talent that went into creating tracks like those.
