Didn't know who this guy was, so I looked him up. Interesting comments he made, eh? Laughing
This reminds me of a similar incident here in Canada. A Hockey Night in Canada commentator in the intermissions, Don Cherry, said something like "only French and European guys wear visors" for their helmets. I didn't see what the big deal was but Quebec was up in arms, so they put him on a seven-second delay before broadcasting so they could make sure he doesn't say stuff like that again. Rolling Eyes

In all fairness hes entitled to an opinion and the ironic thing is, he did actually say it off air but so television company from Dubai was still recording nearby ... unlucky sod! Ah well! Razz

lmao... I heard about that. What a guy, that Don Cherry, hmm? And those Quebecers can't take anything lightly. Rolling Eyes Cherry had it coming.

Never was a big fan of him though. Razz

Whether you agree with him or not, it's good entertainment watching him.
Do you watch HNIC down in Minnesota then?

Oh no you did'nt just diss the hockey DON.....Donald S. Cherry. Sorry it is not Cherry's fault that he was telling the truth, confirmed by the Toronto Star, the very next day. 55% of Europeans wear visors compared with 35% of Canadians. Don Cherry knows hockey, he was a player and coach and he knows what he is talking about (98% of the time). So you better recognize his talent and you don't diss Cherry....but then again.....what do Americans know about hockey.....you lost twice in the Olympics to Canada.....on your own soil.

Canada better smarten up at the World Championships though. I can't believe they only tied Austria.

remember here....7 world cups....out of that..we won 5....lol

The World Championships are kind of corny, the the playoffs still on in the NHL, I don't know about the European leagues, but..
Not really a good measurement of talent. You're dead on about the World Cup, I'm waiting for it!

Actually, I'm Canadian. I just live in the US.

And I don't dislike Don Cherry, I just find him funny sometimes. He really does know his hockey. Smile

Nice. It took me FOREVER to get a social security number, and I couldn't have a job or driver's lisence without one... talk about a drag.

And to become a citizen I hear you have to take this rediculous citizenship test with questions like "Who was the 18th president of the United States?" Who cares? I bet most Americans don't even know that.
