Those are two of Ferry's very best CD's that he has out. The live one is very good, you can feel the atmosphere when he spins Punk live.
Nice DVD with that one two.
I'd recommened them.

| Continues? Global Trance Missions was released before the World Tours...
Info on the Trance Missions CDs: Released by Moonshine, the first one in June 01, the second in March of 02. The World Tour CDs were released in 02 and 03, which makes the TranceMissions CDs one of his first mixed CDs, aside from Trance Nation and Live @ Dancevalley.

Right. I own Global Transmissions 1 & 2 and the mixed live one as well.
#1 isn't really a great CD, but good in its way. I think that the synth technology wasn't as good when this CD was made, so the actual quality of production is less than I had hoped. Still, decent CD overall.
Best track: Riva - Stringer. Awesome track. I absolutely love this one.
GTM2 is much better than the #1 edition. Lots of cool tracks, including some of Ferry's best remixes.
Best track: Oceanlab - Clear Blue Water (Ferry Corsten Remix) A classic in its own right.
Ransom - My Dance (Ferry Corsten Remix) was brilliant as well.
Mixed live at Spundaie - There are lots of good tunes on this one. Ferry played lots of hits with lots of well-known names. Quite a lot less of his productions and remixes than in the other two CDs. One thing about this mix is it doesn't progess very well - the tracks kind of jump all over and it doesn't have a particular feel to it because of this. Good mix all the same.
Best track: Matti Laamanen - Flakes. Great melody in this track! Although Punk and Beachbreeze are also really nice. Like Dave mentioned, when the crowd is chanting along to Punk, that is really cool!
Wondering why you're bringing up these CDs now, all of them have been out for quite a while now. I'm looking into buying the World Tour ones, but I have to order them from the U.S. so it's taking a while to get them all that sorted out.

Looks like there's another Ferry one, Solar Serenades. Looks like a decent (although old) tracklist, who owns this one?
Thanks for the amazon link Dave, I was going to buy the World Tour ones from euromusicworld but they are a lot cheaper in Britain. Of course I'll have to check out shipping and handling, which I expect will cost an arm and a leg.
Another excellent comp I have is AvB's Boundries of Imagination, which is excellent, has Lost Tribe - Gamemaster, one of my favourite tracks!

| I own it, and I can't say I enjoyed it too much. It's only a single disc, and Boundaries of Imagination is much better. Still, if you're a die-hard Ferry fan, you might enjoy it.
Cool guitar track on Solar Serenades though, Chris & James - Club for Life.

I'll probably end up buying it anyway. Are there any other comps from famous DJs I should know about?

Viceroy wrote: | I'll probably end up buying it anyway. Are there any other comps from famous DJs I should know about? | I made a list of albums that you *might* not have heard of due to poor advertising:
Jason Dunne - Sunrise Sessions (Great US DJ, doesn't sound like he's from the US)
Chicane - Ibiza (something like that, I can't remember the exact title...it's a mix CD by Chicane though)
Noel Sanger - Trance (Trans) II
Dave "The Wave" - Trancendence
Mars & Mystre - Faith in 2000
Transa - Exposure III (if you like the Transa sound, it's a little more progressive)
Transit (one of the best collections of true classics that I own)
Mark Oliver - Timeless Trance
hope that helps.

Haven't heard of Jason Duune, Noel Sanger or Dave "The Wave". I check them out though, thanks for the recommendations! I'm all for hearing new DJs, so many good DJs aren't promoted well enough.
