Post Post subject: PvD and Final Scratch Reply with quote

A week ago, Paul Van Dyk was in town. spinning live.

but he was doing so via his ibook using a software known as 'final scratch' by stanton. he was using standard turntables with vinyls hooked up to his mac. beat mixing and matching was done via the turntables but he was staring at the screen while doing so. i presume he was mixing mp3s.

so anyone used final scratch before?

He does not use MP3's he uses a very high quality audio file format for his stuff.

He's been doing FS for some time, very nice bit of kit it is, saves carting around loads of gear, all you need is two 12"'s and a laptop and its wayhey Smile

Apparently John '00' Fleming is going to start using FS, but using CDJ's as controllers instead of vinyl. http://www.john00fleming.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2509 although he's worried about critics. Tell him what you think on his msg board (See Above) Smile
