QWERTY keyboard

here's a pointless fact you may or may not have known.. QWERTY, which is the name for the current keyboard we use was purposely made to be less efficient and to make us type slower... all the letters we use relatively the most are on the left side, due to the fact that most people are right handed.. and the most common letters are specfically placed further away from each other and in awkward places for the simple reason that the old typewriters used to jam up when adjacent letters were typed too quickly in sucession.. with a more efficient keyboard.. it was showed that we could dbl the speed and reduce our typing effort by 95% ... based on tradition we continue to use the qwerty keyboard.. isn't this insane?

I heard it was designed in the QWERTY format so that the most commonly used letters were in certain places also at one point there was a keyboard that was in alphabetical order but that never took off.

talking about pointless facts did you know unill the mid 1900 you could still challenge somone to a duel to the death to prove your innocence in the UK. This went all the way to the House of Lords where it was decided it could no longer be applied and the request was thrown out and the loophole closed.

ANOTHER pointless fact

The concept of flash mobbing first began in New York (US) on the 3rd June 2003 and was organised by a man with the guise of ‘Bill’. The real name of the originator is unknown as he wishes to remain anonymous. It was started a social experiment to prove the theory that “purely through word of mouth, a huge group of people can gather for no reason whatsoever” He chose the internet & its available communication tools to carry out this experiment and prove his theory to be correct.

cos the middle line is almost like the actual alphabet..

D F G H J K L --> just missing the two vowel E and I
