Livesets give you a better idea of the skill of the performer - no in-house studio tricks and editing will be involved there.

live sets are a lot more uplifting!!!!! but, its easier to mix a live set.
so studio sets are more skillful as long as they are digitally mixed on computer or something!!

I'd go with Live Sets.

YOu just get a diffrent style of sound that with a studio mix. A real sense of the even and some cracking bass sounds.

I'd have to say liveset as well they require more skill in shorter time and you get a different atmosphere.

Actually hearing the set live is best, but I'd rather listen to a CD recorded in studio than live. Better sound quality, and generally more thought put into the overall mix.

Politics of Dancing, a perfect example.

IMHO - Politics of Dancing is the exeption rather than the rule as far as CD mixes go, PVD`s Politics of Dancing is probably one of the best mix CD`s I own Cool

Well, it's quite above and beyond all others no doubt...but what about Tranceport? Northern Exposure? Lights Out? There's plenty of others. Still, I agree that seeing the set live is the best experience, much better than any CD.

The quality of some live sets can be a bit iffy but some of them you really get a nice kind of sound when it comes to the 'boom', if you get me there.

in a liveset, i'd suppose you get a proper peak and a real kick out of it. well. it depends whose liveset we're talking about here. yeah, i do agree, politics of dancing, pretty much exception to the 'rule' there.

I've been thinking again. lol And has anyone else noticed that some songs just sound fuller live? Maybe it was the way the set was recorded but I've noticed that a few of the tracks I really like don't sound the same in their original recorded state as they do live. They're almost duller or more muffled originally.
Crazy?

If you're just talking about recorded mixes, than I'd have to stay studio mixed CDs.
