I thought it was brilliant especially the fight scenes. I was never a LOTR fan before i saw the films.

the ending really got dragged on... and when those undead things came i exspected a big battle but they like killed everything in 10secs  but apart from that it was really good!

yah...!!! that's exacally why i didn't like it as much.. they hype up the battle so much and just when you think they are in peril and are starting to feel for the characters and their fate those things come and pretty much kill any empathy i had for the characters.. i liked the 2nd one better b/c the whole battle scene they were pretty much fkuced, so there was suspense as to what would turn it around... which makes me wonder, why didn't the king ask them to go into mordor as well haha

Good film, saw it last night. As was mentioned the ending was a bit a long, a couple times I thought it was over and then there was another sentimental bit tacked on.

no! you go it all wrong, "a hobbit's tale" is the real first part of lord of the rings. the interpretation to the book was'nt exactly portrayed at the movie but there is indeed "a hobbit's tale" which was the first book written by j.r.r rowlings
