Post subject: What do i need? |
|
|
Hi All!!
Ok well first off, I can't decide what to get for christmas, a CDJ100 or start producing.
On the producing side I have a Yamaha DJX which I want to hook up to my PC through Midi, what do i need do get? I think I need to get a sound card which Midi ports so can you recommend one? Also I was thinking of getting Cubase as a sequencer, which would you recommend?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Ross

If you want to produce using hardware I would recommend you to get Cubase or Logic, depending on if you use a MAC or a PC?
As for soundcards I'm no expert. I have a M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 myself and it works really good for me. But on the other hand I don't use any hardware except my midi-keyboard (which is connected to a USB port so I don't even use the midi-port on the soundcard).
But M-Audio/Evolution makes good solid products for a good price. I would check out some of their cards with a little more in/out ports if I were you.

I'll be looking at mine as soon as it gets delivered
As for what to get its really upto you. get what you think you will use and not just something to have just for the sake of it.
