USB Portable Hardrive Memory Sticks

im sorry but does anyone else have this fucking amazing invention....its absolutely class..they range from 40mb- 1gb and can be used on any pc with an enabled usb port..without needing to install its software!!! and are the size of a small key ring

i find the one i got very handy for transporting 'purchased' livesets from the uni pc's 2 my own pc at home....no need 4 burning cds or similar malarky.. just plug in and go! its just proper bo!

i got 128mb for £70 from pc world..but its about £40 now in sales and that...the 1gb was about £250!!! though

i advise u 2 get one if u have access 2 a fast network ie uni and cant be arsed 2 pay for broadband or similar....or have work that is 2 big for floppy disk or 2 small for cd..(ie a 25mb item on a 800mb cd)

lads at college got em.. only small ones like 64MB we use em to move work from laptops to college comps etc... dey is pretty cool Wink

Pretty useful if you can get on a high speed connect other than at home.

Now I've dsl, dont really need anything like this. Good for quick and easy transfers tho.

My notetaker (similar to a laptop but specially for blind people) uses them for memory but I just got a 128 meg one for home. grin We don't have a CD burner so on memory stick! lol Love em!

I use my creative DAP for this task and it also works as a portable MP3 player if you have any MP3s on it Smile

.. Its got 8GB discspace Smile

and runs on USB 2.0

my mates got one on my course...

but in my building at uni.. all computers have CD writers so if i want to take anything home.. i can use CD Laughing

yeah but they are not enough memory for me... i just got 120GB hardrive.. and i filled already like 30GB.... in my school we usually use ipods, or external hardrives... i am in advertising so we do movies and posters that take loads of memory. Razz

for regular people i would recomend memory sticks tho they are better than zips

The only bad thing is that the cards themselves are expensive as hell! lol So Probably I'll just start using my portable hard drive that I just got. Sttill use them as back up for my notetaker though. smiles

These usb memory-sticks should become standard-hardware and replace the unusable floppy-drive...almost nothing fits into a floppy anyway...

i'm gettin these 'disgo' thingies (external storage) very much like key fobs, various memory size. i can see gr8 things in it for the dj, keepin tunes on yer bunch of keys!

right now tho' ive got a multi-card reader, takes all the cards from cameras, samplers, workstations, kettles, toasters.....
