Post subject: How do you seperate vocals from background music?! |
|
|
Time and time again I think this is impossible, as most vocals are recorded on a frequency that is shared by bass or something else etc, and unless you have the 'master' its not possible...
So how does Lichtenfels do
'Juliet'
'Sounds Like A Melody'
sampling the original vocals? Without getting the background noise, is there some sort of program that will do this?
Thanks.

There are some pro audio editors out there than can just about strip a track down anywhich way it likes, stillprolly get some background noise but with some editing, that can be taken out.
Other than that, record the vocals yourself again.

i think its possible only if the track is digital mastered
then dat way u can separate anything
but for normal tracks
i could only lower the instrumentals n higher the vocals
but u can still clearly hear the background which is shit
what is the chance that an artist will give u his/her accapella ?
i really wanna know..
say if i asked PVD personally for the vocals for nothing but u for an remix
i wonder if he would give it

Might be best off asking Hemstock & Jennings, I think they own the original vocals from pvd's track.
Interesting thought though, he might if he knew you where going to do a very good remix.

If quality is a concern its nearly impossible to do it. Unless the vocals only occupied a small space in the frequency spectrum you could just filter out that frequency domain. Usually the vocals are pretty spread out on the frequency spectrum so by removing them your gonna be removing other "stuff" too. The final track with removed vocals wont sound right either...
