IMO.. there tracks have got cheesier and more commercial as times gone on.. but you all must have your favs.. Laughing

for me, as much as i like castles in the sky (wippenburg rmx), my favourite ian van dahl tune is try (alphazone rmx) a very good tune, and one of the best alphazone have done too i think !!

I must be the only person in the world that likes PVD and Ian van Dahl at once. lol If any of you has seen the interview I'm referencing to. sad face
Anyway, I like Try, and their new one a lot. I haven't heard enough remixes though.

I got really dissapointed when I first heard their last track, "I Can't Let You Go", which is a 95% commercial euro-trance-track, although the Push vocalised remix is ok! But they've actually made some really nice "trancepieces", so don't talk shit about them before you know what you're talking about! I've their 1st album, "Ace", I must say it is quite good, unfortunately a couple of cheesy-tracks destroyed the over-all impression. My favourite tracks are: "Satisfy Me", "Nights On Java" and "Castles In The Sky"; best remix made of any Ian van Dahl-track: "Castles In The Sky (Wippenberg Remix)".

I remember when castles in the sky came out. Quite liked that one.

Not a fan of most of their other stuff but the Lange remix of reason would be my favourite track.

"Nights on Java" was a real surprise to me because I heard it after I first heard "Castles in the Sky," which I considered huge cheese (even though I do admit I like the Wippenberg remix). After "Castles in the Sky" I was really turned off to IvD and didn't give him a shot.

When they play trance or techno or house on Washington, DC radio it's usually stuff like "Castles in the Sky" or Gahan's "Dirty Sticky Floors". So my friends are like "'Castles in the Sky' (the one song they've heard) is the worst song ever, trance sucks!" It annoys me.

Terrible story spoken, I started getting some IvD songs, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I love "Nights on Java."

"I Can't Let You Go (Push Vocalized Remix)" is also damn good.

Lange's remix of "Reason" isn't bad, probably because Lange IS FREAKING AMAZING and saved an otherwise crap song.

Ian Van Dahl - Nights On Java

This is a really good tune. I bet if AvB or Tiesto had released it ppl would have have been talking about how great of a tune it is.
