i posted this exact messages on some other forums to but no luck yet:

A little info: It was first played/broadcasted in Paul van Dyks set at NEC in 2002. And then again later in the year at Love From Above. Until now, everyone has just assumed it was a Paul van Dyk production including myself, but when it didnt show up on reflections i was most gutted..

Anywayz, after emailing pvd.de they got back to me and said:

I can see how you thought it might have been a PvD track, its got the same style that he normally produces. No idea on who its by or the track title either, I would have though PvD would at least know something about the track, or indeed his pr team.

Nice tune though by the sounds of that sample.

Well after talking with a friend, i now have reason to believe that pvd.de hav possibly lied to me Surprised

The reason for this is that in 2002, a friend of mine emailed 2 samples to pvd.de one of which was a sample of the same track in my link, and one of which was Paul van Dyk - Connected (of course this was in 2002 so we didnt no it was connected at the time). Anyways, they replied saying that both were paul van dyk tracks and would be released on the new album in 2003..

Hmm so thats pretty dodgy.. but theres more. In mixmag a couple of months before the release of the album paul van dyk gave a little description of each track that was to be included on the album. One of the was called "Avid City." He described it as a track with a very typical Acid line in it (hmm does this sound at all like the description of the link in my sample? i think so!). The name Avid City came from the fact that when they were typing Acid City into the computer, someone made a typo and typed Avid City instead. Apparently this looked better so they went with avid instead acid.. anywayz, now the album has been released, there is no sign of Avid City on the album. Another friend of mine got the chance to speak with Markus (pvd's second man) and he explained that there were some kind of licensing problems and so Avid City couldn't be included...

So... basically my theory Razz

is that the sample in my link is Avid City Very Happy

and that they are denying what it really is. I don't know why they would deny it tho. Perhaps PvD would get in trouble since there are samples of it on the net? I really don't know..

Also, just taken a listen to the dam thing. It's got PvD written all over it. Blatent PvD bassline, and drumroll with that typical pvd "stutter effect" as it kicks in on the 64th beat.. Basically, if this isn't some kind of Paul van Dyk production, whether it be his track or merely a remix/rework i shall eat my hat Very Happy

Soon as I listened to that sample, I was getting the word. PvD. His new album isout next week so unless someone's got a preview copy we will know then.
