Post Post subject: Argue for Trance Reply with quote

Where ever I go people say that trance music and all sorts of electronic music isnt real music. They mean that this music is only made by a computer and that they can make the "same shitt as that you listen to". Am I the only one whos being exposed for this?
And what do you say, Is it because that this music can be hard to understand, because of that trance is a life style, or what is this about?

And why is the music connected with drugs?!

yeah...this is what I hear too....lots of people say it's not real music when there's only electronic instruments...

...and if I say I think a pop-song is monotonous and boring they say:
"how can you say that when you like that trance-music with the same repeating beat over and over again in all songs"

they just don't understand the beauty of trance Woooot?

Well, they don't have much room to talk. I don't think that any musical genre hasn't been touched by some electronic instrument. But I get the crap about trance being the same repeating beat. I just tell people they have to connect to it and really listen to the subtleness of the music, or they won't get it. smile

I think that one of the best reasons why people say that all trance-tracks have the sound and all that, is because they either have been listening to some big-time commercial stuff on radio. But another thing is that everyone (specially in Norway) who don't know a shit about electronic music at all, think that all electronic music is trance; they're so stupid. When you first learn how to like trancemusic; you understand how it is to be adicted to something! Rolling Eyes

It's different. Most people listen to the same stuff on the radio. It would be the same if someone listening to a different kind of alternative music.

You get it all the time, "Trance is crap", "its all the same" and "its just repetitive and boring" and all that bollocks.

Especially from bastard kids who listen to linkin park and go roller blading wearing hoodies with "Korn" on the front.

To be honest, I couldn't give a fuck what they say, I love my track and will continue to listen to trance. they dont like that? Touch fucxking look, they know where the goth music section is in HMV, go stand over there and moan.

You hear it so many times, I just wait until they've finished or ran out of breath.

All those anti-trance people are either metal fans or hip hop wannables

for me turntable is much more difficult to master than any other instruments like guitar and drums..

people think djs just play other people song but it's what u do to the records that make djs important

the more people against trance the more i play them on the car and clubs even at uni!!

yeah...some people think a dj just have to switch record every now and then...and push the "jump-firmly-to-next-song-on-other-deck-button" when they want the new one to start up....and that's all there is to it Neutral

(well...some local dj's only do just about that... Rolling Eyes )

i think thats because of the drug culture evolved with the music....the music was made to dance to, the drugs made it more fun...

look up the history on the rave scene or talk to someone who was there (im talking 80's-early 90's - the ecstacy explosion)...drugs and this music went (and still go) hand in hand

i mean theres nothin better then being stoned and listening to some hard trance...with some chips....mmmmm Wink

Yes, the drugs were definitely ere. The question is, if you don't use drugs, are you still accepted in the circle? That's what I always try to explain people.
Small note: if you're not in because you don't take drugs, at least ten people have been falsely deluded. lol

How can you say electronic music is made in a computer...when HIP-HOP's soo called (artists) make their beats on a Beat maker? and then have other Mixers and Enigineers make the sounds for them.... I personally don't give a S#!@!! about what ignorant people think about Electronic Music ...Hell I play my music loud and WEAR MY VANDIT SHIRT EVERYWHERE!!!!! Very Happy
