Hello everyone,

I haven't been to this forum in a long while.
Today, finally I logged in and thought I throw in a topic.

What do you think about today's TAUCHER style/ music?
He now spins what he calls, "Adult Trance" which is same as prog trance meets deep house in a nutshell.

TAUCHER's current releases include:

Eye Trance vol. 6 w/ Daniel Bruns
Aggregat - "Tribal"/ "Five" Cool
Taucher - "The More You Work, The Better You Get"
Patrick Scott vs. Taucher - "Torch'd"/ "Inexorable Lust" Cool
(info/ samples on these releases ^ can be found @ www.djtaucher.de)

RMB & Friends - "Love is an Ocean" (Taucher remix) Cool

Although, I'm not a big fan of this particular style but for a change from the usual melodic/ uplfiting Trance, it's pretty nice. I liked the tunes under
Taucher's 'Aggregat' alias and his remix for RMB especially. Wink

DJ Taucher--

Though admittedly I haven't heard much of his/her stuff, I'll give my limited input.

--"Bells of Avalon" was all right...take off on another song which I can't currently place the name of BECAUSE I LOST MY MUSIC.

--His remix on Kosmonova's "Ayla" I actually thought was pretty good, but I think any "Ayla" that isn't "Ayla Part II" (and maybe Part III) isn't good enough.

--"Pictures of a Gallery" I think is pretty good, though I probably like the Kay Cee remix better than the original or Phase 2.

--"Lost in Love" is decent.

Overall I might give Taucher a 6/10 unless you can tell me songs to find that would change my mind.

can't say I'm a big fan of Taucher...but as mentioned above that style is nice to listen to from time to time...nothing I would listen to for hours though.

I was unaware of who you meant until Ayla was mention so i guess the only stuff by name i recognise from him would be tunes from his Ayla guise, which are pretty decent.

Corsten is Moonman as far as I know.

If Taucher is actually Ayla, then that changes my whole aspect on his productions.

Ayla Part II is one of my top 10 songs and Part III ain't so bad either.

First of all, Taucher's visible part (Ralph Armand Beck) was part of Ayla only on Ayla and Ayla part II with his co-producer Torsten Stenzel back in '96. Since then Taucher hasn't got much to do with DJ Tandu/Ayla (Ingo Kunzi). Then he did remix Kosmonova's remake of Ayla in '97. Nowadays Ayla is basicly just Ingo Kunzi alone.

There are only 2 parts of Ayla, Ayla and Ayla part II. Thanks to the "oh so kind" world of mislabeled mp3s, there are floating around also part III and part IV which don't exist...

As for the thread, i have liked Taucher's work since the beginning, early '92, since Happiness came out. Luckily i have managed to collect about all the best works he has done, on vinyl or CD. I have been a bit disappointed with his more recent productions and remixes though. The latest Taucher remix i really like, was of York feat. Alaska - Yesterday from 2001. The remix of RMB from this year is a bit boring IMO.. and i prefer Legend B - Lost In Love (Taucher Remix) from '97 instead of his updated version under the Trance Allstars guise.

Some Taucher tracks & remixes i recommend (Taucher = Diver in German, Diver & Ace = Ralph & Torsten):

Ayla - Ayla (Taucher Remix) 9:32
Blank & Jones - Flying To The Moon (DJ Taucher Remix) 9:52
DJ Jan - X/Santo (DJ Taucher Remix) 10:45
Kosmonova - Ayla (Taucher '97 Remix) 8:11
Legend B - Lost In Love (DJ Taucher Remix) 7:23
Nostrum - Brainchild (DJ Taucher Remix) 9:07
Santom - Sliced Consciousness (Taucher Remix) 12:10
Scooter - I'm Raving (DJ Taucher Remix) 9:44
T2 - 8:15 To Nowhere (DJ Taucher Remix) 10:41
Talla 2XLC - Is Anybody Out There (DJ Taucher Remix) 10:05
Taucher - In History Of Man (Diver's Acid Mix) 8:27
Taucher - Miracle (Phase II) 9:15
Taucher - Outside World 6:21
Taucher - The Man From Cuba 7:06
Taucher - Waters (Phase III) 8:10
Taucher - Winter Love 9:13
Taucher & Koma - Happiness (Original Mix) 8:06
York - Yesterday (Silence) (Taucher Remix) 8:16

Thanx for Greamripper for his contribution.

I have to admit that Taucher has completely changed his musical style and his nowadays sound (>2000) has not too much to do with the great trance sound he was producing in the past.
Eye Trance 6 indeed presents a new completely sound in comparison to the former numbers (ET1 to 5 were maybe the best trance samplers available, now we just have the great Trancemaster surviving...).

For me another great Taucher project was Red Light Disctrict with "Did you hear me?" back to 1998, as well as one of the rmx of Diver & Ace - Mental thing (can't remember which, just the melody comes to my ears...)

People interested should be looking for his first album (2CD) called Return to Atlantis (now a nice price by Amazon.de) and the two Remix albums he has also released (2CD each).

To come back to Ayla, there have been several releases of the Nirwana album (due to the new singles that were produced after first release), and it is in my opinion one of the best trance album available you should not miss!
