The impact of dance music has a tremendous effect on youth lifestyle, cultivating a new breed of partygoers that have redefined the concept of "going out" night starts later, curfews are almost always broken. what an interesting phenomenon why is it easy to assume that a particular genre of music can spark a whole new trend in living.

I respect all electronic music, I dont like trance, in fact I hate it, but I still respect it.
To me trance is really annoying. I seek complexity in music, and trance just doesnt do it for me. IMHO

hmm you did say you seek for complexity in music...do you think you can find this complexity in techno?? I mean i like some techno tracks, but most of them are very monotonous. In my opinion there is less complexity in here...

I guess. THe main reason I listen to trance is for the great melodies. Techno is not as much focussed on melodies, so it's not my style. They are completely different.

What attracts me to techno. Hmmmm *me thinks*.
Well, for starters I've always liked underground music, be it metal, punk or rap. Secondly, I've always loved the drum, its my favourite instrument. The melodies in techno are made by percussion, usually, and the beat and rhythm it creates makes me feel good, music for the mind and soul. Whereas trance is a happier form of music, it targets different emotions I guess. But what do I know? I just know what I like

Trance consist of different genre, I guess thats why trance is very complicated compare to other types of music. the feeling of the music wherein listeners are subjected to different emotions and it is up to them to reflect to the music and how they define the Trance music itself......

Good intro, low kicks, many strings, melodic breakdown, build up without strong roll up, amazing bass line ,and of course, superb and "happy" melody....
In my opinion a "typical" trance production has these elements, but there are many substyles and many innovative producers fortunately
Trance is feelings, of course, but not only hapiness feelings
"Hapiness seems to be loneliness..."

I think techno let's the producer make more his own style ... techno tunes are not all the same .... trance tunes bores me to death .. it's the same beat , same basslines , same buildup , same break in all trancetunes .... some years ago i loved the melodies and didn't think about the other stuff that mutch ........ i love all the rhythms and energy in techno and i guess that's what attracts me to techno ...

techno sounds pretty much the same to me
while trance sounds similar but have many different styles.
maybe the trance u hear come from similar producers...try to listen a wide range of djs

i have listened to a lot of trance ... i turned into a technogeek just some months ago ... i think trance sounds the same coz it's the same percussions and buildup on almost every trancetune ... melodies don't turn me on any more ... im so sick of it ....
