Hello Smile Im new to these boards. Surprised

Im a fan of Scooter/Lasgo/Mark'Oh and the likes...

I also produce music under the name DETECT 2 , producing trance, we arent famous (yet!)
But we do have our tunes to listen to at

http://www.peoplesound.com/artist/detect2

Problem is here in UK its difficult to be signed as not many A&R's like Trance Sad
So if anyone has any hints/tips to get in the industry, much would be appreciated Smile

Thanks again Smile

Sean

to get your music noticed when u're not known yet is a really hard task.

but if you've got some good music and willing to spend alot of time, you can get your music heard, rated...and maybe even played at some clubs for a test run Smile and maybe even more later..

i think a few of the best (yet popular) ways to promote your music as an unsigned artist will be:

* publishing some good tunes for a free download on the internet

* also try to make owners of "free mp3" sites add your tune(s) to their sites...this is good coz many many people that are looking for commercial stuff look into these web-sites and they might notice your tune, and download it thinking "ummm never heard of him but the name sounds cool so lets give it a try"

* make CD's and hand them over to local DJ's and club promoters for FREE, every club, even if it uses only TT's also have a cd-player and if your tune sounds good to the DJ he might give it a play or two!
and imagine if the tune was dope, people might just go up to the booth later to ask for "whats that tune's name was?" Smile

* make sure everybody knows you are an artist and making music, burn a CD with your best tune(s) and play it LOUD whereever u go in your car !

* get a contact with a radio station or two, send them a demo cd, if your tune is up to their taste, they will play it at least once, stating your artist name followed by the name of the tune..... and this is live on the radio dude Smile Smile

* make a few dozens demo CD's with your BEST tune, and send it to as many labels possbile (labels with the same genre of course) add your full info to the demo CD ! they might get back to u !

oh well i could keep writing and writing and writing...but i think u get the idea Smile just promote....and if your music is good..... it will get heard Smile and your name will get known...

hope i helped !

All very good tips on getting your music known about. Another tip I'd use is to set up your own website instead of importing it through peoplesound. Its just more professional to have your own design and style along with your music to showcase in my view.
