Quality trance ones are hard to come bye but my favourite release of the year has to the new Godskitchen release.

Whats every one elses?

Really after any CD's that have been released that I've missed or dont know about, running out of back cateloge ones now, bought them all..

On the same subject. Has anyone seen an album by Jon The Dentist called 'Vortex'. had a review of it in mix mag given full marks but I can't find it anywhere.

NOT Nyana...probably GU 24 right now. Maybe 4 Strings - Believe. Most of the Godskitchen albums are great stuff though...hard to find in the US, but i'll definately look into it.

Havent heard of a John the Dentist album (honestly, i really didnt even know he has made enough tracks to make an album).

I didn't enjoy the White Label Euphoria that much....heard it played at TranceAirWaves radio a couple of times...but didn't like it enough to buy it Undecided

Parts of it is good...but not the overall thing in my opinion Razz

Yeah, I don't have a lot of respect for anyone who plays Groove Coverage as trance. A bit too commerical, in my opinion.

it's commerical but it sounds good and thats all matters to me
i guess u have to make commerical trance for people to buy it now days....

take a look at milk inc, lasgo, fragma, n-trance...
they all top up the charts with commerical trance

i would like 2 c some real trance djs make it 2 the top someday

Usually, trance must be commercial for the "masses" to buy it- but the fact is that many producers are not concerned about chart success and make great music that is more underground than commerical, and it is bought, on compilation CDs or vinyl, by trancers. Chart success is not necessary for producers.

Godskitchen sorry, excuse the bad spelling :Smile

On the commercial issue. Procucers of quality trance should know there is a big enough fan base to release material without making a loss on it. For those who enjoy quality trance music Smile

The best mix CD this year so far has to be 'Out of Obsurity....into the Dream' by Ian Scaife (England). This is a must for all the prog fans out there, and also the trance fans if they want to hear some of the more melodic and emotional progressive house that is out there. Here is the tune list:

DISC ONE: 'Out of Obscurity....'
1. Bart Van Wissen - Space Tourist
2. Polefolder & CP - Dust (Flash Brothers remix)
3. Sholan - Can You Feel (Sonos Pelican remix)
4. Central Rush - Lotus
5. iio - At The End (Sat & Lee Howler remix)
6. Atlas - Compass Error (original)
7. Space Manouvres - Pluto Disko (original)
8. Jean Michel Jarre vs Hellpass - Arpegiateur (4/4/version)
9. Odysseus feat. Kitka - Insignia (original)
10. Filur - Reefer Decree (Filur Remix)
11. Ashtrax - Digital Reason (Ogenki Clinic remix)
12. Ashtrax - Digital Reason (Filterheadz remix)

DISC TWO: '...into the Dream'
1. Tkac & Haverlik - Tyra (Start With This Dub)
2. The Beatfreakers - No Way Out ( Sundayprayers remix)
3. Head Honcho - Medicine (Original)
4. Royal Kinks - All Night
5. Tobi (W) Greed - Nihill Nulla
6. Behrouz - Azab (Luzon Vocal mix)
7. Buds Not Bombs - Deleido (Coleman & Sensei remix)
8. 12 Moons - Nimbus
9. Tkac & Havelik Tyra (Original)
10. New Disco Science Alliance - Break Even (Original)
11. KWM - Dont Work (Sassot remix)
12. Darcadian - Daylight

I would recommend everyone to try and get hold of this very recent but rare gem. Deep in places, melodic, haunting, trippy, tribally and pumping in others. Quality tunes and quality mixing.

Scudge
