Opinions on Paul van Dyk - Nothing but you

What do you think about PvD's latest release? I think it's an excellent record.....far better than For an angel and other of his recent releases! Mr. Green

Also...those norwegian vocals bring the tune up to another level Razz

Its certainly up there among his best work but I doubt PVD can equal his early works such as For an Angel and his mix of Blank & Jones - Cream.

It is a fantastic tune though Smile

First off Paul is the man and im kinda sad that he got voted #2 top Dj of 03' in BPM (BadBoyBill was #1) and i think number 2 or 3 on this site. neways i do like the song. Jan has an awesome voice! i think i will pick up the 12" Wink

My favourite track of 2003 thats for sure. I only buy 12"'s of the highest quality (most other tracks you can find on decent compilation cd's or on cd release) but this one is a must have. Its certainly one of his best works and I'd put it along side 'For an Angel', 'Beautiful Place' and one not many people praise enuff, 'Pump This Party'.

hmm... I'm going to buy it, but I don't like it too much. I'd pick "another way" and "together we will conquer" way before this as my favorite tune of his. I don't know, it just doesn't do that much for me. Maybe it will grow on me... and there is the rest of his album to come too Smile

the Original Unreleased Mix is fantastic. I have no idea why paul made changes for the release. Should hav called it Paul van Dyk`s Tetris Mix. Totally ruined it Sad

Im still hoping that the original mix gets released on his album in July tho. Maybe it'll be called the Album Mix, i dunno. Just hope the decent mix gets a release. Oh and the vandit mix is just gash.

i just picked this up over the weekend.

i like it. heard it before from previous PvD sets.

i think i like the PvD club mix a bit more than the Vandit Mix. i'd definitely build more atmosphere w/ it and opt to wait to lay the Vandit Mix down later during a more peak time. save that as a breather for when they're really havin it! nothing like jan johnston's voice to soothe an aching tired body!

i'd rank this one up there with his top 10. not "over-the-top" enough for me to put in his top 5. that's a tough group to beat.

i enjoyed hearing it out when paul van dyk was in melbourne a month ago but i've got the original one so i don't think i need this one, and when i had a quick listen in the shop the other day it didnt really jump out and say "buy me!" either. i might have to give it another go.

I quite the PvD Club Mix and the Vandit Club Mix, and to a lesser extent the Cirrus Remix. But none of these compare to pvd's original mix he's been playing in sets for quite a long time now.

But it seems his original won't be released Sad

In the song, a norweigen sings "Jeg har ingenting men jeg har alt nar jeg har deg" which is translated into english as "I have nothing but I have everything when I have you"

If I'm not mistaken this vocal was also made into a tune by Hemstock and Jennings.......... the track being called Arctic.

The vocal for that was sung by Kim Marsh. Also is is apparently Norwegian so the vocals do have a meaning.

you ppl are insane. This sounds like every other song this guy's put out over the years. Did noone notice that his mix of Binary Finary's 1998 was the EXACT SAME SONG as "Avenue?"

He can't produce anything without that same 4/4 beat and he's used the same 3 synth effects for like 7 yrs. now.

He's a hack.
