probably going to spark a political debate here, but as its pretty much current affairs, there has been argument that noone really supports Bush on the war, not the UN, nor many of the member states, as with other nations, with arguably the only support coming from the UK.
Polls show that over 60% of people now oppose the US going to war with iraq at this time, up from just under 30% a few months ago..
Without bashing any countries or religions or whatever, you guys think that Bush has handled this pretty badly? or it just sucks to be president?

well...the "evidence" against iraq aren't exactly convincing....first they said Saddam had to be stopped because iraq got lots of weapons that they shouldn't have....now after showing some evidence that weren't really good they have started focusing on how bad he treats the people in iraq...
that way it seems bush is only trying to get a valid reason to invade iraq and take control of their oil resources...

I think as a person Saddam has no morals, and has been torturing his own people for a long time, Like in Zimbabwe, the opposition are 'dealt with' and I think that as a dictator he should be removed, However if Bush's motives are to gain control of the resources like Oil, then I'm opposed to fighting for this reason.
I think it's a tough thing for the politicians, they can't win tbh

I agree wtih ya but I can't say that I think that Bush have any morals either IF Saddam would say that he will quit what would happend? The U.S would probebly come up with a new ideal cause they want to have control over Iraq and their oil.. or am I wrong?

I doubt he'd say he'd quit- but I agree that the "evidence" wasn't very convincing- with today's technology, anyone could make "evidence" like that.
But I'd imagine that he would definetly keep on making up reasons to attack Iraq, for sure.

When Iraq fought against Iran the U.S and several other countries helped Iraq to build up a army so doesn't they have them self to blame for somethings?

Saddam's plan is basically working, and that is public sympathy. Like in the Gulf War, he used civilians as human shields. He knows that so long as he's got public sympathy in the West for the hundreds of thousands (possibly even millions) of innocent Iraqis who would get caught up in any conflict, there will be vehement opposition to dropping bombs on Bagdad.
It's a difficult one, granted, but on the whole I'm going with the contraversial opinion of supporting the war. Bush might be doing it for whatever motive (oil control, whatever), but from the info I have Saddam is a dangerous dictator. When (and this is a WHEN not an IF) he is taken out, Iraq might get someone better, they might get someone worse. We'll have to wait and see.

My old chemistry teacher was a real dictator. The only thing dangerous about him was that he was perilously boring.

Well...now the bombing has started...
here in Norway several demonstrants wants our government to contact the US to tell them what they are doing is totally unacceptable...well...I can understand them...but what impact would that make? Probably only that USA won't back up Norway if we ever are treathened by an enemy...
Can't see any reason why USA would listen to such a small country....or even several small countries....if France and Germany also contact the US about this I'm afraid the only outcome would be WW3
Lets just pray and hope this war will not last very long and that civilian losses become minimal

Something just really pisses me off about the US attack. After Bush's speech on setting up democracy in the Middle East, I was really mad. Who is he to tell the rest of the world what to do? I think the US is a like the guy who thinks the world will fall apart if he isn't there to stop every little thing- too self-righteous.
Well, that's what I think anyway.

Too often they involve themselves in situations that are none of their concern.
