I have paid 20 quid a couple of times for cds lately, but I dont buy compilations as a rule now cos they're full of tripe and commercialised shit labelled as 'trance' Mad

I'd much rather they recorded livesets at every event and sold them for about a fiver, I'd buy no end then

I think there is a big market for recorded livesets Smile

Since they are pretty cheap to produce it should be no problem having a much lower price on such cd's. But if it becomes common I'm afraid the shops will have the same price on these cd's and keep the extra profit themselves Crying or Very sad

yeah mate, I can understand that but so many cds lack a passion that you'd find in a liveset, maybe the mixing wouldn't be so good but the energy & flow would make up for it

Personally I feel the prices we get charged for cds is an utter rip off, especially for most of the tripe out there. The music industry keeps going on about how much pirating cost them yet if they put decent stuff out there and reduced the price to a reasonable level they'd most likely find a lot more people willing to actually spend thier hard earned cash on a cd.

i think pretty much everyone see's prices too high, now where the hell on earth contributes say £15/20 for a cd

hmm, ok, productions costs, for a mass produced cd, probably will be say a quid or two, marketing/prmotion say a quid, payment to artist= sweet FA, these are not accurate, just made up, and the rest, to those fat greedy bastards record companies

and then they bitch, how its costing them badly,

come on, how the hell is a music cd, equivalent to a DVD, content wise, the dvd, beats the cd down. 20 times over, 2 hrs of audio/visual entertainment, even a baby could see this, but they still charge the same amount, just shows how greedy they are, oh and dvd's have there own sets of problems too, they dont get off scoot free

even tho, alot of the times, we think were suffering, little thought is given to the artists behind the work

artists who work day and night producing music, for our listening pleasure, but then see it taken away from them, and they get paid a very unfair share, considering its there work, its there efforts that keep ppl buying, and their livelyhood, they dont get a fair share, rather a disprpotionate amount goes to the record compaines, for doing shit all, whilst sidelining the artist.
and the artist cant do much all, as there all in this, and they have to go with the flow Sad

why pay when someone else can, then you copy it for a grand cost of 30p

there aint many good CD's any way, theres only one i buy and thats the trancemaster series form belgium by DMD (not the english rip off version thats oooh sooo lame)

better to make your own anyway, you can have your best tunes together that way!

Where I live you can't exchange the cd if the seal of the cover is broken...unless it is damaged (then you get a new copy of the same cd).

Confused

up here u have to sign your name on a new recipet with all your details....but u cannot take the cd back again i u have done a straight swap for the other which u first bought (that make sense doesnt it)....so the best thing to do is take the first cd back and get your money...then go to another till and buy the other cd...or in the case of hmv newcastle go either up stairs or downstairs...

depends, over here in uk, i think under the 1974 fair trades and goods act ,... (or summat like that) been ages,

anyways, in uk, im sure any items on sale, you have a statutory 14 day period where you can return anything (apart from lingerie, ear rings, and stuff like that for hygeine reasons),

and if there stubborn, i usually start saying, blah blah, 1974 trades act says blah blah and so on on, and then i say, i'll get the leeds trading standards office on them...

by then they usually give up, and refund, or et me have my way.

im sure you can either get a replacement or the money back,

and for software, just say you dont agree with the EULA (end users license agreement) and send it back,. to get your money back..

chances are it was a US import, like i got 2 weeks back, its nice album, but on imports prices are usually higher, considering how much the album costs in the states and the small price for delivery

GU014 DIGWEED Hong Kong, essential GU!.... i personally enjoyed it a lot , the entire set is darkish, hypnotic and mesmerizing deep trancy it has a sinister feel to it yet high energy which makes it more than good , its worth getting....
if you enjoy anything from Jimmy van m, Chris Fortier, Parks & Wilson,Mark Shimmon this set will not disappoint.
