Post Post subject: Mixed Albums Reply with quote

I only have two mixed albums. Mauro Picoto first album and Paul Van Dyk's "Out there and back". Dont get me wrong. I really like the music in both Cds is just that the tracks are not seperate. They are mixed and that is kind of turn off. Why did they do that?? If i want to hear mixed Cds, i`ll buy compilations from them! Do you know other albums that are mixed the same way?? Sad

almost all electronic artists' albums are like that. Take a look at all the BT albums... if its not mixed its blended together in some way. Its done to give the whole album a feel and/or mood of its own. Personally, i like it better this way. If i wanted the singles i'd just by the records or CDS. Think of Artists albums as works... not just all their productions thrown on one cd.

It is kind of turn off. I want to pay special attention to every track seperatly, not mixed. This way give you little pause so you can be ready for the next track. And i dont think all electronic artists have mixed CDs. I got many Cds and they are not like that.
By the way any other mixed Cds i should watch out for?

i dont mind mixed CD's, take Blank & Jones albums, mixed together and it just gives the album that on going flow and tempo, rarther than just stopping and starting with a thump, like most tracks do.

The new B&J mixed album... I've listened through it one time and although the flow was good, overall it lacked something but I can't really put my finger on it. Maybe it was just my mood or something... I'll listen through it again...

You just told me compilations. I was talking about albums with original tracks from the artist and being mixed. As isaid i dont mind this kind of compilations, but when an artist decide to release their own album and it is mixed it really turns me off!!

not got hold of the new B&J one, got it ordered tho. I'd say that Mauro Picotto's new one aint mixed. It flows nicely from track to track but they are not mixed into each other. Its the "Others".
