Post Post subject: List of 70s/80s/90s classics given a trance makeover! Reply with quote

Whenever my mates hear some remake of an old track ie Tall Pall Vs INXS, they get very excited, until I mention that there's loads of better remakes/covers of songs from the 80s that have never had any commercial radio play.
So I made a list of all the ones I know of and a note of who did the original.

Does anybody know any tracks that I have missed from this list???
If so please add them to this thread!

Cheers!

Marc Et Claude - I Need Your Lovin (Baby D)

Great list mate, but, Baby D actually nicked that whole tune off an 80s band called 'The Corgis' and their tune was originally titled: Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime.

2 more for the list:
Mike Koglin - The Silence [Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence]
Progress - Everybody [Madonna - Pappa Dont Preach]

Cool

Is that for real that Baby D have the original "I need you loving"? Too bad for Marc Et Claude. Their only good song and it happen to be copied from Baby D. Sad

I look for the discography of Baby D and didnt saw that song in their list!!!

I did not include Mike Koglin as it uses a sample of from Enjoy The Silence and is not a direct cover or remake.
Progress - Everybody only uses the loop from Madonna and is not a cover either, thats why these two will stay off the list!
I knew Babu D was a cover, but couldnt remember who did the original!

Cheers anyway!

This is in fact the new T-Spoon single, yeah... the ones from "Sex On The Beach", "No Time 2 Waste", "Delicious" and "Tom's Party"... It should therefore be credited as:

T-Spoon - Alive & Kicking

This track was released as a whitelabel 12" as "Supreme Dream Team - Alive & Kicking", but that was just to check out the reactions of the crowd.
Here's the tracklisting of that 12":
A1 Supreme Dream Team Hard Mixz
A2 Supreme Dream Team Klubb Mixz
B1 Extended Vocal Radio Mixz (this is the one to check out! Pure vocal trance)
B2 Ibiza Dubb Mixz

You can listen to samples of the song at http://www.t-spoon.com in the Specials section.
