Why would they lock it if its not true and they have nothing to hide? You may not know whats right and wrong, but them and me probably both know whats fact and whats fiction.

This site is clearly one where you get sent review copies of upcoming
releases from labels and you're openly admitting your association with
music piracy groups. You dont deserve to get these free records and
such if thats what you're going to do with them.

Agreed. Its not very smart. Its even dumber when you run the site and act like you are some kind of underworld kingpin. Of course they probably dont think anyone of importance checks the forums. Think again. Yet more evidence into the dodgy little sideline that certain writers participate in. Oh dear.

I have been monitoring this website for a few weeks now since something was brought to my attention, and now it seems there is even more evidence. You may want to think just how many clues you have left laying around.

We already know where some of you live.

Whats so Misunderstandable about it?
These people blag records under the premise that they will review and promote x labels
releases and then rip and release to the internet. You people have the special privilege
to get upfront copies of music and you abuse this to your own personal gain.

You prooved it yourself with an "i:vibes Admin" boasting about his oh so good 10mbit FTP's
and have the best groups on, with the best uploaders or whatever. He himself admitted one has to
give to get, which must mean he is abusing his priveledged position to be on these sites.

Which to be quite honest, is sickening. You dont deserve to have these contacts if you
abuse them as such. So dont label someone a c0ckend just because they speak the truth.

I don't really have a view on this topic, Ripping groups do a good job & long may they continue, but to name them is stupid and to threaten people is the biggest load of bullshite I've ever seen, If you know where we live, please bring a tub of ice-cream and some cookies with you... if not just hide back behind ur screen and don't turn the great forum into an arguments/threats thing cos its 1 or 2 on a 1800 odd and u wouldn't win

EDIT - I suggest that the mods close this again and do the same on further posts of this nature, they're not the kind most of us wanna see IMHO

Ripping groups seems to be a popular subject...

I've talked to the person in our crew who said he was in a ripping group and it turned out that he was only kidding about it Confused

He thought it was too obvious that he could not be in such a group so he claimed to be in one...but unfortunately not many understood his irony Sad

Not a funny joke if you ask me, since it could easily damage our reputation! Evil or Very Mad

Anyway. The i:Vibes policy is clear! We DO NOT and will NEVER support distribution of illegal mp3s Exclamation

We do not receive many promo-cd's/vinyls for review either. Almost all reviews are of cd's/vinyls bought by the crew-members themselves!
Just ask infinity and Sygnus how much they spend on vinyls per week!

Most of the promo's are then given away as prizes if we get permission, otherwise it's the reviewers property as a reward for writing the review.

I will close this topic now, and any simiar topic that appears will be closed immediately!

I just unlocked this post to post my 2 cents as I am the one who initially started this confusion...

I want to begin by saying I totally agree with Stream and i was only kidding because I figured that the members of this forum knew me well enough to know I wouldnt be involved with such an organisation for mp3 sharing etc...

I want to have this topic unlocked because I have nothing to hide... and i:Vibes has a clear policy which we enforce very strictly! We, oursleves go around our forum and delete any illegal posts and posts like mine would usually have been deleted. The reason it was not deleted was because it was a joke (which I thought funny at the time) but obviously was not funny...

So,
I want you to know, say your words or whatever, but you dont even know me... It is impossible for me to be in any group like this because if you check, Ireland does not have ADSL or any connection worth talking about! I am stuck at home on a 56k dialup connection and it costs a fortune to be on the internet! why would I bother downloading mp3 when it would really be cheaper for me to go out and buy the cd or vinyl?

The fastest connections wehave in ireland is ISDN which is still really slow and it costs about 5 times dearer than normal dial up, so anyone who wants to accuse me of being involved with illegal mp3, PLEASE GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT FIRST!
