Post Post subject: ask push a question Reply with quote

Hey,

I'm doing an interview with him, so if there's something you want to know, post it in here, and please, try to have an original question, cause everyone can come up with, what's your fave tune ever?

Something more like: When you are DJ'ing in Gatecrasher, and you drop your most famous tune 'Universal Nation', and you see all those people dancing to it, what feelings does that bring to you? You feel powerful then, cause you have the capability of ending that dancing, by playing something completely diverse.

Like that :)

End date is sunday 31st midnight exactly.

If your question gets chosen, your name will be mentionned.

Arrow Ask him how he gets the inspiration and the ideas (with all his other projects) to do so many tracks and remixes.

couple from me....

1- How do you decide which alias you're going to release a tune on, do you set out to say 'this is the new push tune' or do you wait until you've finished before assigning push or M.I.K.E etc ?

2- Having been a member of the Bonazai label for a considerable period of time, is there anyone who you'd like to work with who is signed to it, or is there somebody you think is about to make it big from the label ?

A couple more from me!

1) What do you like to do to unwind after a hard days work in the studio?

2) What was your inspiration for trying your hand at trance production?

3) Will there ever be a collaboration between yourself and the mighty Digital Blonde? Surprised

4) Where do you see the dance scene in 10 years time? Will you still be a part of it?

5) What's your favourite club in the UK/World? Why?

Cheers

hehe, gaX with all that insistance and persistance it's finally paid up, finally i'll put sum questions up, feel free to modify/adapt/use them a a base for other ideas/questions. Razz

damn, must've been 3rd time ive tried posting this, stupid ie6 don't like me, reminds me to send a personal/anonyance to a MR Bill heehee Twisted Evil

anyway here sorta goes, if there similar to any other questions posted up already, i applogize its not my intent that, half asleep/and half braindead when i came up/wrote these down orginially!!! might rearange them later on, and correct grammer and spelling, first just get this down!

1)how much of an infulence does external factors have any effect, if any on his music, when he's producing/mixing. ie does any reflection of his mood/emotive state make any apperance or shape any tracks in any way, or does he float away into his own world, fairly imprevious to external going on's when he's producing/mixing?

2), how much does improvision play a part of when he's mixing /producing, does he add/experiment with ideas as they pop into his head, or does he save them later on for a start of a track. ie from the outset has a specfic idea and direction on the tracks already, that he doesn't deviate from and saves any improvisional ideas for start of new tracks /experiments or a combination of both

3)what pushed him towards trance, ie what appealed the most bout trance over other stuff all thosee years ago?

4)with all the acclaim/exhuburant praise/accolade you have earned and achived. is there one thing in particular/s that in hindsight alone made it all worthwhile?

5)are there any moments/events that happen that make you question/doubt your destiny/path/career in trance

6)76 alias, roughly there abouts (hehe that ivibes profile yay Very Happy) do you know you have this many, and is there any particular reason for so many, hehe, any associated split personalites/moods with these!

7)does he actually oversee most/all or have extensive say/input in all the stages of an album/single's production, ie, is he a perfectionist!

8)how much, preparation is there done on average to his tracks/albums/live sets, beforehand, is there any particular track that took the longest, and does he think with the longest time spent on a track, it showed all the applied effort in it?

9)what does he enjoy/appreciate/critize the most about his music, ie pulser has said in an ivibes interview
Quote:
I usually have a hard time appreciating my own remixes/singles because I know them too well. It’s only when I hear another DJ play one of them and see a crowd’s reaction that I get enthusiastic.
, does he any comon ground with this view, or is it an entirely different view?

10)concurently (meaning at the same time?) what does he attribute to what makes his music such a sucess with fans?

11) what 1 quality as an artist/dj/mixer does he think is paramount and the most importnat?

12)which pairing/paternership does he think was the msot productive/most enjoyable to date, and future apsirations in terms of a pairing, still unrealised?

13)how important and influential is the intercation with fans ie at clubs and fairly recently the new avenue thro the internet, with extensive/enthusiastic webpages such as your own and ivibes which you praised quite highly!

14)what is his oppinon on trance staying relatively underground/ uncommercialiesd, is it moving away from this, and can he see any benefits/negative effects in doing so? ie it is my oppinon that the genre trance has been kept relatively untainted by the effort of artists and fans alike!, which has built up such an imense sense of comunity and spirit, which makes trance in its many ways, so good Razz

15)
Quote:
The best tracks come from those who do it for the pleasure of music not money --by trisco on ivibes board
, summing up feelings/oppininons does he think that is the general trend in trance?

16)how much does he follow his instinct when producing a tune, does he feel this is in tune with many of his fans and hence having fans absolutly loving his work/tunes?

17) how important does he feel live dj'ing is, ie does it give the necassry instincts of how to follow/maniplulate the fans/crowds to the full potential and blow their socks off? that can only be seen/acquired from live dj'ing/live sets?

1Cool is there if any how much does he have a difference/strugle between label and the producer ie, in the direction/content/decisions over a album/single/remix/ piece of work!

19)when he remix's songs, does he mix it with in mind of what has been done, ie so he can completely do summat different, or does he remix it in his own way irrespective of whats been done?

20)what does he expect/pleases/annoys he when sum one remixes one of his tunes, ie does it give fresh insight/ideas bout his own music that he really didnt have before!

21)it is often said by fans that the golden age of trance was 99 in particular, you still think there is yet to be an epic golden age of trance to emerge, and any ideas on how/what it may be yet!

22)what are you most looking forward to this year, is there any particular highlights?

23)perfecting/experimenting/producing/mixing how much of a balence is there between each of them, is there anything you like in particular from them, and which one do you feel is more important, ie like experimenting to stay fresh?

24)was there any dificulties starting out in trance, or was there any particular help from fellow producers/dj's that got you on your feet?

25)can you sum up a brief statement bout trance and its greatness for newbies and experinced trance addicts alike?

26)is there anything still left to achieve, even tho you done so much, ie any new revolutionary ideas, still in infancy or anything you'd like to try yet?ie any ideas yet for his final legacy when he retires? Razz

27)where does he see himself in the future, ie 50, still producing/clubing, or does he hope for a peaceful laidback life writng soundtrack/ stuff for other ppl?

28)how's life been in general, good i hope, how has supplimented and enchanced/entranced Smile his life in anyway?

29) any favorite styles/techniques he really likes?

30)any inspring words or an upcoming future dj'/artist?

31)what are his passions in life, apart from music?

32)what was his inspiration for making trance, did you try to emulate someone in the trance scene, or did you just follow your instincts

33)if there was one instrument you would play if you don't already what would it be? a banjo, haha Very Happy

34)whats his most prized/rare possession, ie like vinyl wise maybe?

35) hypothetically if he had won a major music award, ie music equivalant of an oscar, what would roughly be his acceptance/appreciation speech? Laughing

36) oh and an unusal, uncanny question, err what's the colour of his socks? heehee Very Happy

i think thats it for now!, heh, i dont want to lose this and start out allover again!!!

hope this is enough/starting for you gaX, hehe
