© www.mayday.deWhat a party - not only for the techno enthusiasts but for Trance- Lovers as well... Impossible to put it into words but let's give it a try...

MAYDAY - MAYDAY - MAYDAY - MAYDAY - MAYDAY !!!!

Imagine... over 20.000 People Screaming the name of this MASSIVE Party and you are standing in between these masses screaming, dancing and feeling the energy of brilliant tunes with all others...

But the MAYDAY was more than this little impression. Everyone expected a lot of this party which is held now for the 13th year. This time, as nearly always, in the Westfahlenhalle in Dortmund, Germany. 3 big Arenas full of Techno and Trance Sounds, huge soundpower and multiple laser installations everywhere - a unique festival that shold take place more often a year in my opinion.

But lets have a closer look to the Line-up...

TRANCE:

Tillmann Uhrmacher
The moderator of the well known german techno & Trance Radioshow "Maximal" and gifted DJ was loading his decks with powerful vocal and uplifting Trance. he played his tracks on Area 2 and made the crowd go totally nuts... Only quality, that's what we expected from Tillmann. Goosebumpa all over the body you were unable to stand still...

Taucher
Unbelievable. He arrived in a complete diving suit (Taucher is german and means diver) and while spinning he took it off and playeed the best progressive Trance I have ever heard so far. His sets always contain a certain show... Standing in front of the turntables, standing on his hands instead on his feets dancing as if there was no tomorrow... I want more of this amazing DJ!

DJ Taucher

Ferry Corsten
It's been a while since I last have seen this Man live... I expected a lot of his set and was not disappointed by the selection of Tracks he played which were really awesome, but in my opinion he should have played for a much longer time. One hour definately is too short to enjoy... But: Everytime he spins his decks you are blown away into another dimension. Thank you, Mr. Corsten, for this Trance- Experience.

Ferry Corsten

Paul van Dyk
What can I say to this man? He is even more well-known than Santa Clause and he does his job like no other. He knows how to make the crowd go crazy with tunes that are so carefully selected that you really have to guess when one is over and the next one begins. No words for this - a brilliant set, Paul! It can't be any better.

Members of Mayday
This is the part of the festival where all former Hymns of the mayday are played. Every single DJ that is performing at the Mayday is standing on the scene dancing with hands in the air. It really is impoossible to top this. Definately a breathtaking experience

TECHNO:

Chris Liebing
Labelowner and Germany's No.1 DJ with the neverending sympathic smile was really pushing the crowd to another level. With his ultra hard sounds and aggressive rhythms he really took everyones breath away. Nearly impossible to dance to his whole set, because after 15 minutes your energy is gone and you have to refuel your tanks with some energy and water and dance again then. An unbelievable set from an unbelievable man. Every time he deejays he is writing techno-history

Takkyu Ishino
What a mix! This man really understands how to scratch and spin the decks - forward and backward, two at the same time, sometimes three... It was a spectacle for the ears. Never before heard sounds and loops, this man creates new records "on- the- fly" only with parts from other tracks hat last less than a second... Un*****believable.

TomcraftLets call him "Mr. Dark". He is known as the one with the darkest melodies in his tracks, for some they may sound too depressive but the crowd (us included) really loved his set.

Dave Clarke
Dark, deep and mindtaking - thats how to describe his set best. Quality- not quantity should be his motto.

Elektrochemie LK
Who doesn't know the hit "Schall" of Elektrochemie LK, with the never before encountered ultra- low bassline. This time enhanced with live vocals and definately worth a listen. A great Set and a very gifted front singer.

ELECTRONIC

Westbam
One of the Fathers of the Mayday was presenting fine electronic music with a lot of breaks and abstract Rhythms. It is him as well who produced all Members of Mayday Anthems. His set always is one of those not to miss at the mayday, because it is him who always has the right taste for new styles of music.

Nena vs. Tok Tok
Nena, the well-known lady of Pop of the mid- and late 80's who made numerous #1 Pop hits in germany. This time she was singing to the sounds of the electronic Duo Tok Tok. In my opinion a good show but we had the opinion that instead of Nena, Sophie O would have been a better choice...

Lexy and K-Paul
The two Guys from Berlin presented new tracks from their recent album "East End Boys" which is full of electronic Masterpieces with simple sounds that are easy on the ears. Lexy and K-Paul have shown that they really are some electronic Geniusses.

Of course we could not be at any area of the Mayday at the same time and that's why we have only seen some of the numerous Artists which we presented above.
